About Becca G
With vulnerable lyrics and emotive storytelling, Becca G.‘s music blends country-pop and adult contemporary influences, exploring themes of belonging, resilience, friendship, living in the moment, and embracing life’s ups and downs with a touch of humour. Rooted in her small-town USA upbringing and shaped by her journey of building a life in Canada, her songs bridge the gap between where she came from and where life has taken her. Through personal and reflective lyrics, she explores the ache of longing for home and the peace of finding it wherever she is. Inspired by the storytelling of Taylor Swift and the fearless voices of The Chicks, Sarah McLachlan, and Pink, Becca creates music that is rich with emotion, authenticity, and meaningful narratives.
Over the past several years, Becca has released a growing catalogue of original music, including the singles Firefly Sunsets, Torn, Free Ride, and Ride or Die. Her music has connected with listeners who relate to themes of nostalgia, personal growth, friendship, family, and self-discovery. Her original song Firefly Sunsets earned national recognition as a Semi-Finalist in the Unsigned Only Music Competition in both the Adult Contemporary and Female Vocal Performance categories, highlighting her strength as both a songwriter and vocalist.
Twenty years ago, Becca moved to Canada and built a life with her husband, raising two children and surrounding herself with her beloved pets. With a background in the professional beauty industry, Becca spent years helping women feel confident in their own skin. As a former hairstylist and a founding family member and creative director of the globally recognized haircare brand Surface Hair, she understood the power of self-expression—whether through fashion, beauty, or music. Today, she channels that same passion into her artistry, using her lyrics to inspire, uplift, and connect with others.
Music and poetry have always been constants in Becca’s life, but it wasn’t until 2019 that she fully recommitted to singing and songwriting. Since then, she has immersed herself in the craft, studying songwriting and seeking mentorship from respected industry professionals including Melissa Nygren (Prairie Songstress and Rosie & the Riveters), Alyson Reigh, Randy Woods, and internationally recognized songwriter, author, and Berklee College of Music professor Scarlet Keys.
From performing at a young age to playing intimate venues and community events, Becca has always believed in the power of music to connect, heal, and tell meaningful stories. As a mother, entrepreneur, and artist continually rediscovering herself, she challenges age-related expectations within the music industry and encourages others to pursue their dreams at any stage of life. Through her music, she creates a space where listeners feel seen, understood, and empowered to embrace their own stories.
Currently recording her debut full-length album, Bittersweet, with producer Jesse Wieman at Nolita Studios in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Becca continues to refine her artistic voice while building a growing audience. Scheduled for release in 2027, Bittersweet is a collection of songs exploring friendship, love, loss, resilience, nostalgia, and the beauty found in life’s most meaningful transitions.
